Living Sea Therapy is a Cornish company that creates all-natural bath and skincare products. The key ingredients that go into their scrubs, body washes and moisturisers are sea salt, minerals and seaweed, which are blended with 100% natural essential oils to create gorgeous aromas.
Recently, Royston Labels was asked to manufacture the labels for the Living Sea Therapy range – and our team was delighted to accept. The artwork for these labels was created through a collaboration between South West artist Catherine Forshall, and designers at Design by Channel. Tracey Lawes, the company’s Associate Director, has explained the creative process, saying: “We wanted something that was unique, so we commissioned Catherine to produce a beautiful painting and provided her with a couple of Pantone colours to include: turquoise blue to represent the pure Cornish waters, and vibrant green to represent seaweed.”
To bring this beautiful design brief to life, we began by selecting an appropriate material: durable and water-resistant polyethylene. To translate the design onto the labels we used digital printing which was ideal for this initial small production run. Embellishments were added in the form of silver foil and matt and gloss varnish; we feel that these details, in combination with one another, evoke the textures and movements of sunlit seawater.
We are delighted with the finished result, as was Tracey Lawes. “For a new start-up business, it’s not always easy to find suppliers who will dedicate the time and patience,” says Lawes. “From the outset the team at Royston Labels has been very supportive and flexible, finding ways to maintain the desired look while keeping costs down. With any new launch you get some challenges, but these were met head on and dealt with quickly. We are looking forward to a long and continued relationship with Royston Labels.”
