Royston Labels awarded C4G Recycling certificate

In 2018, we recycled a whopping 12 tons of silicone coated release paper – and seriously reduced CO2 emissions in the process.

The Royston team is proud to announce that, following our efforts at recycling in 2018, we have been awarded a certificate from one of our partners, Cycle4Green Recycling.

This fantastic company specialises in recycling release paper liners, which account for a huge amount of our waste.

Last year we recycled a total of 12 tons (that’s about the same weight as six African elephants) of silicone coated release paper. We’re delighted to say that this amounts to a reduction of 25 tons in CO2 emissions.

This is an achievement that wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of the team at C4G Recycling. We simply pack and store all our waste liner, and wait for the C4G team to pick it up. Once in their hands, the silicone is removed and the paper fibres are transformed into recycled papers.

Overall, 2018 was a fantastic year for our recycling record. We had 55 tonnes of plastic waste recycled into polymer pellets by Preston Plastics. We also sent our general waste to a zero to landfill company, Mick George Ltd. They separate out viable recyclables before sending leftover waste material to an energy plant in the Netherlands where it is used as an alternative fuel source.
