High-quality cold foil printing that promises efficiency and affordability
Cold foiling is visually similar to hot foiling, but offers its own unique benefits. As the variety of label stocks has increased, hot foiling is not always the best option, which is why Royston offers cold foiling as well.
Cold foiling works by using a conventional print station to print a special adhesive onto the label stock of the design. When the metallic foil is brought into contact with the label web, it adheres to the printed adhesive areas. The adhesive is then activated under the UV light, allowing the foiled areas to be seen and the non-foiled areas to be removed – resulting in your desired design.
The benefits of cold foiling include lower origination cost, a potential for faster delivery times, the ability to print onto very sensitive labels stocks (synthetics), and a wide range of colour finishes.
